Winston-Salem is celebrating the Fourth of July through a showcase of history, culture and the fan favorite fireworks show!

1. Fourth of July Weekend in Historic Old Salem

Old Salem Visitor Center is located at 900 Old Salem Road.
Home of the country’s first documented celebration of Independence Day (1783), Old Salem Museums & Gardens invites you and your family to partake in hands-on activities, historical demonstrations and Moravian tales as told by the costumed interpreters in the historic buildings.
on Saturday, July 2, Old Salem hosts Signora Bella, the Great Italian Equilibrist for performances throughout the day. Tracing her roots to the Italian theatrical style of Commedia Dell’Arte, Signora Bella has stunned audiences all over with her feats of balance and juggling of sharp Turkish swords and flaming torches.
* On Monday, July 4, Old Salem continues the Independence Day celebration with historic reenactments, patriotic music and their annual Naturalization Ceremony!** Candidates for US citizenship will take an oath of allegiance to become new Americans. Keynote speaker will be former US Senator Kay Hagan. (In the event of rain, this event will be held in the James A. Gray, Jr. Auditorium in the Old Salem Visitor Center).
**Admission to the Naturalization Ceremony on the square is free.

2. Patriotic Pops Concert

Continuing the popular Summer Park Series, The Arts Council is hosting a Patriotic Pops Concert at Triad Park in nearby Kernersville, located less than 20 minutes from downtown Winston-Salem. The Judy Barnes band joins the Piedmont Wind Symphony for a unique Patriotic Pops concert featuring original music by Judy Barnes as well as your favorite patriotic and film music under the direction of Maestro Matthew Troy. Grab your picnic blanket and lawn chairs and enjoy a beautiful evening of incredible music. This event begins at 6 p.m. and food and beverages are available on-site for purchase. This event is rain or shine, but in the event of severe inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to The Arts Council Theatre at 610 Coliseum Drive, Winston-Salem, NC
There will be a second Patriotic Pops Concert on Sunday, July 10 at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC.
3. Fourth of July Celebration at the Children’s Museum!

For the tots who may not be able to keep their eyes open late enough for all the fireworks to go off, the Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem invites families with young children to make a firework craft and sound shaker, then join for a celebration with fun songs at noon.
4. Winston-Salem Dash Fourth of July Festivities
Monday, July 4 (7 – 10 p.m.)

To many, this is considered the best Fourth of July Fireworks display in the Triad. Located at BB&T Ballpark, home of the Winston-Salem Dash minor league baseball team, the fireworks show in downtown Winston-Salem takes place following the game.
