Ready to go Camping!

July 7, 2016

Whether you’re looking to setup a tent steps from the beach, relax in the comfort of an RV or cabin or paddle-in to your campsite, chances are you’ll find what you’re looking for at one of North Carolina’s 41 state parks or recreation areas.

Camping at the state park near (or far) from you can be an affordable, family-friendly trip and give you the chance to closely connect with our state’s scenic splendor.

North Carolina State Parks offer many exciting camping options, from cabins nestled in the forest to primitive beach camping. Our parks offer family camping, group camping, tent and RV sites, paddle-in sites, and much more.

Reservations for campsites are strongly recommended. For most parks, reservations are made through ReserveAmerica. On their website, you can view campsite maps, see photos of individual campsites, and learn which facilities and amenities are available.

Please don’t transport firewood into our state parks because you could unknowingly spread dangerous insects and diseases–such as the emerald ash borer–which can harm the forest. Buy firewood locally where you intend to burn it, or buy heat-treated firewood. Visit the Don’t Move Firewood website for more information on how to have a risk-free campfire experience.
