Clarksville

The charming Town of Clarksville was incorporated in 1818 and became a bustling center for commerce and tobacco. The damming of the Roanoke River in the 1950s, which created Kerr Lake, had a tremendous impact on the entire county, and, especially Clarksville.

Today, Clarksville is known as an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise, with nearby opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, camping, hiking and more. The town is the staging point for dozens of fishing tournaments each year, as well as other regionally-famous festivals and special events.  Click here to learn more: VISIT CLARKSVILLE on the LAKE
