Salute! The North Carolina Wine Celebration

March 17, 2016

Entering its 12th year, Salute! uncorks along Fourth Street in downtown Winston-Salem as more than 35 North Carolina wineries share sample pours of their wines and inform festival goers of the happenings at their wineries. Looking to learn more about the art of wine and how to properly taste and pair it? Be sure to attend NC Food & Wine University. Presented by Salute!, NC Food & Wine University brings local chefs and winemakers together to share tips about wine pairing and the art of wine tasting. Beer lovers also find their niche at the festival at the beer garden, which highlights Winston-Salem’s local craft beer scene.

Though the actual festival is Saturday, June 3 from noon to 6 p.m. — the celebrations and excitement for Salute! begins days prior to the event. Attendees can sample wine by the glass during the event, or buy wine by the bottle or case directly from the producers. Throughout the week leading up the festival, visitors can savor paired meals at Winemaker dinners or attend Friday night’s celebrity chef cooking event.
