Woodworking & Forest Festival returns to Woodstock.

March 2, 2017

Working farms and forests give Vermont its beautiful rural character and unique sense of place while serving as an important part of the economy for many communities throughout the state. This fall, one event celebrates those great aspects of Vermont.

The Vermont Woodworking & Forest Festival will be held on Saturday & Sunday, September 23-24, 2017 in Woodstock, Vermont at the Billings Farm & Museum. The Vermont Wood Manufacturers Association (VWMA) will partner with Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park during their Forest Festival for a premier foliage weekend event! The farm and park are directly across the street from each other so visitors can park for free at Billings Farm and enjoy both events! They can visit with you, the artisan, and woodworking demonstrators who will be in the Visitor Center, barn, or on the farm lawn. Join the celebration of Vermont’s working landscape with your unique products that represent the best of Vermont. The VWMA is seeking producers of wood furniture, accessories & woodenware, cabinetry, flooring, carvings, turnings, and all other products made of wood to sell their product.

Woodstock is a quintessential Vermont town that attracts visitors from around the globe. This beautiful historic area in the Green Mountains of Windsor County is easily accessible from the interstates and part of the Crossroads of Vermont Scenic Byway. The Billings Farm and MBR National Park are both members of Vermont Attractions Association and icons of our working landscape located just outside the town center.

As our hosts and partners, these venues provide an appealing backdrop. The ambiance of the Billings Farm loft and grounds are the perfect complement for fine furniture and wood products crafted in Vermont. Add to this the allure of fall foliage that attracts thousands of visitors, and you have a recipe for success! Take advantage of this opportunity to showcase your fine craftsmanship!

The scenic backdrop of the Farm along with live music provides a perfect accompaniment for shopping or watching demonstrations. Just across the street, visitors can enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides, forest walks, additional woodworking demonstrations, make your own wood crafting and other family activities at Vermont’s only National Park.

Show hours are 10am to 5pm Saturday & Sunday. The spaces are limited and are first come, first serve so we recommend registering as early as possible. There are three buildings where Vermont woodworkers can sell their wood products. You can also take outdoor lawn space to sell and/or demonstrate making your wood craft. You may sell only those pieces that are designed and made in Vermont by you, a Vermont woodworker. Call with questions about what space may work best for your products. Space ranges from $200- $350. The Vermont Wood Manufacturers Association can be reached at 802-747-7900 or info@vermontwood.com. All vendor information is also available at the event website www.vermontwoodfestival.org. Online registration is available.

The Vermont Wood Manufacturers Association represent primary and secondary woodworking companies and related businesses statewide. Member companies produce wood furniture, bowls, toys, carvings, flooring, windows, doors and much more. VWMA’s mission is to support the industry in Vermont and promote its long-term viability by expanding members’ presence in the marketplace, ensuring a sustainable supply of raw materials, increasing workforce skill and acting as responsible employers and community members.
