Meadows of Dan Campground

2182 Jeb Stuart Highway Meadows of Dan, VA

A short one-minute drive from the Meadows of Dan center, this campground has two cabins and 26 RV or tent camping sites available. It also boasts a fishing pond, playground, and horseshoes, though it’s so close to Meadows of Dan, Mabry Mill, and area parks/hiking trails you won’t have to go far for entertainment. Nestled 3,000 feet high, this is an area surrounded by unspoiled beauty and spectacular views. Cool, crisp nights with star-filled skies come for free.

Fairy Stone State Park

This state park has it all from cabins to tent camping, with a few yurts in between. Check your travel dates and reserve online. Staying on site at Fairy Stone gives you easy access to 10 miles of hiking trails, the 163-acre lake, and prime access to hunt for the famous fairy stones.

Rocky Knob Camping
1670 Blue Ridge Parkway Milepost 167, Floyd VA

Just 30 minutes north of Mount Airy, North Carolina and nine miles from Mabry Mill, this campground boasts over 100 camping sites for tents and RVS. It’s pretty rustic–there are not any hookups for water, electrical, or sewer–but dump stations are available. It also does not have showers, but it does boast an enormous campfire circle that can host 150 campers. And it’s easy to access the Rock Castle Gorge Trail and Black Ridge Trail from the campground.

Goose Point Campground

Goose Point Park is nestled on the shores of Philpott Lake. Overflowing in natural beauty, Goose Point’s Campground has spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and quick access to hiking trails and the swim beach. Bring your boat or kayak and take advantage of the 2,900-acre lake that backs up to Philpott Dam. The clear water and natural shoreline make Philpott a unique place for visitors who are drawn to the area to hike, fish, and swim.

Willville Motorcycle Camp

Motorcyclists on the Blue Ridge Parkway have been camping out at Willville Motorcycle Camp for over 30 years. Its 26-acres offer a peaceful, grassy respite and friendly community vibe for riders. Each site provides picnic tables and level surfaces for cyclists pulling trailers. The Meadows of Dan Village is minutes away offering food, shopping, and gas. Other close-by attractions: Historical Mabry Mill, Chateau Morissette Winery, Poor Farmer’s Market, and the Floyd General Store.

Wolf Creek Haven Campground

A short 10-minute drive from Mt. Airy, North Carolina, and 15 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Wolf Creek Haven offers primitive, but beautiful camping facilities. Take a seat in their sweat lodge or inquire about a healing rekki session (for a fee). Explore the natural paths along the creek surrounded by mountain laurel and rhododendron. Slow down your pace. Listen to the healing sounds of nature while Wolf Creek washes over your senses. Take a deep breath. Observe Mother Nature in her quieter moments.
