Ready for a "give it or keep it" debate

October 1, 2024

Easy parking. Walkable sidewalks. Stores filled with trending fashions, antiques, handmade art, and the occasional donut or six. Welcome to shopping in Kings Mountain. This cute southern town is just around a half hour or so from the crowds and congestion of Charlotte. But unlike shopping in Charlotte, you’re not thinking about how quickly you can grab something and get done.

Shopping here is something you look forward to, something leisurely to enjoy. Each shop is different. These aren’t big box stores, but locals who have selected their inventory to highlight the best of the region and give you a selection of items you’re not going to find anywhere else. Shop a little, then take a break and have a glass of wine. Shop some more, then take a break for a hot dog and some ax throwing. Shop even more, then visit the casino to try to win back what you spent. It all comes full circle.

There are many shops in Kings Mountain to satisfy your shopping itch. You can find them all in our convenient online directory. If you want an idea of what you can expect without the extra click over, we’ve highlighted a few stores below.

The Imperial Merchantile inc.

A modern-day general store offering something for almost everyone. Home Decor. Clothing. Cookware. Coffee. Teas. Spices. If it’s on your list of "gotta have" or "ooh look at that" most likely you will find it here. Located in downtown Kings Mountain, this store has become a local favorite and a favorite of those passing through. Make sure to pick up a Kings Mountain gift set to remember your visit.

Simply Grace

Walk into this modern women’s boutique and you’ll feel a mix of Southern charm and God’s love. Candles smelling of autumn and grandma’s kitchen line one wall. The other wall is filled with pillows, fashionable clothes, and wooden signs offering inspirational words "Always stay humble and kind." The goal of the store is to be both fashionable and uplift you. It’s a store that reminds you of your blessings. To that we say, "Amen."
