SPRING FESTIVALS IN GRANVILLE COUNTY
Winter is giving way to Spring which means the weather is warming and the festival season is heating up. Granville County festivals and events are unique and uniquely Carolina in that they are not just for attending, but for engaging with and becoming part of our community. So come join us!!
Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26 – Come be part of he Viking Experience
Get ready all you Vikings for The Viking Experience Festival at the Barn at Vino in Stem, NC. This unique festival features over 30 cast members in character and will include something for the whole family. From the "Fairy Experience," to the "Vikings in Training" program, to the "Dinner Theater" which is a parlay between Queen Hanna the Red and her enemy Ellak.
You don’t need to have "Viking" heritage to enjoy the festival explains Angela Reid, the owner of The Viking Experience. "Vikings were a very welcoming culture. Historically they would adopt others into their tribes. "Some of our festival goers can trace their ancestry back to the Viking culture, the others simply either have an interest in Viking lore or want to have a fun day with their family."
This wonderful event also includes a kid’s play area, food and craft vendors, acrobats, dancers, festival music, a "fight group" that will have ongoing combatants in battle, educators and more. The event is truly interactive, even down to the "quest" activity where festival goers can go on a quest for hidden clues. This is truly a weekend the whole family will remember.
