December is a time to celebrate the Christmas Season – and in Granville County, it’s also a time to gather with family and friends. The following are just some of the events we will be hosting this Christmas Season!!
All Month – Oxford — From scary to Merry!!! The oh so fun Granville Haunt Farm is now set up as the Granville Christmas Farm. From now until the new year you can experience this incredible drive-through Christmas light show! Visit their website for information and tickets.

Dec. 2nd – Oxford — The annual Lighting of the Greens & Christmas Parade is coming up on December 2nd in Downtown Oxford!! Festivities begin at 4:00. Lighting of the Greens at 6:45 and the Parade at 7:00. The parade includes floats, dancers, fire trucks and, of course, Santa. Dec. 2nd & 3rd – Butner — Bring the kids with their letters to Santaand join us for a weekend of fun in Butner. On Friday, December 2nd join the community for the Christmas in the Park celebration. The evening will highlight local talent, and will also include Christmas songs and the lighting of the tree. Enjoy various musical performances and Santa reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas" in the beautifully decorated Gazebo Park located on Central Avenue in Butner. Children can visit with Santa from 5:30 until 6:45 pm. The program begins at 7:00 pm.
Then on Saturday, December 3rd, the Butner Community Association is so happy to be hosting the annual Butner Christmas Parade. The parade will have lots of cars, floats of local businesses, churches, non-profits, numerous fire trucks, local high school marching bands and of course, Mrs. Claus and Santa. The parade begins at 2:00 pm and goes down Central Avenue in Butner. The cost to participate is $10 per entry. Non-profit groups (churches, schools, etc.) have no entry fee.

Dec. 2nd & 3rd – Creedmoor — The annual Tree Lighting takes place at 108 E. Wilton Avenue at 7 pm on the 2nd. Students and choirs from surrounding schools sing carols, and Santa makes an appearance to begin preparing his list for Christmas and to take pictures with the children. This is a free event and all residents are invited to attend.
The Creedmoor Christmas Parade will be held on Main Street at 11:00 am on the 3rd. Bring the family and come enjoy the beautiful downtown and fellowship with neighbors. https://fb.me/e/6TbM8jIde
Dec. 3rd – Orpheum Holiday Gala – Oxford — Black-tie event supporting The Hope House of Oxford.
The Orpheum at Oxford is excited to host their 2nd Annual Orpheum Holiday Gala!
This is a black tie event so ladies find your fancy dresses and men pull out those suits/tux’s! We will have heavy passed hors d’oeuvres, grazing tables, and live music. Tickets are $100 per person or $200/couple. Beer, Wine, & Cocktails are included in your ticket price this year! Tickets can be purchased at The Hub on Main! There will be a silent auction set up for people to bid on some amazing items. This event is 21+. We are only selling 140 tickets so get yours soon! Dec. 4th – Cocoa with Santa and Vendor Show – The Barn at Vino in Stem, NC – 1pm to 4 pm
Join the wonderful folks at the Barn at Vino for some holiday excitement! Each child will get to decorate Christmas cookies, make an ornament, enjoy hot cocoa, and write a letter to Santa. Geniann Elliott Photography will be there to capture the perfect pictures of your family with Santa & Mrs. Claus! (Digital images included in price of admission).
Santa arrives by 2:00 so tickets will be sold in 30-minute blocks. Otherwise you are welcome to come anytime from 2-5 pm, but your photo timeslot is based on your tickets. The Barn at Vino will also have some of their farm animals decked out in their holiday best! Food Trucks will be on site.
Tickets may be purchased through Eventbrite. Tickets are $20.00/individual child. If you have more than one child, additional children are $5 per child. Tickets will be sold at the door, unless they sell out online! (This happened last year so don’t wait to purchase your tickets). Lastly, finish all of your holiday shopping at our vendor fair! There is no charge to come and shop the vendor fair! Vendors can purchase their spots using the Eventbrite ticket link as well!

Dec. 8th – Oxford Jingle & Mingle — Come see all that Oxford merchants have to offer this Holiday Season. This downtown Oxford event runs from 5:00 – 9:00 pm.

Dec. 10th – Grassy Creek — This small community located in northern part of Granville County always hosts one of the most unique and cherished events each year. The Christmas Parade is guaranteed to be a special event for the whole family. The parade begins at 2:00
If you would like to participate, the parade lines up on the Charlie Winston Road Other than dignitaries, the line-up is first come first serve, so the earlier you line up the closer you are to the front.
To watch the parade, the best parking is at Grassy Creek Baptist Church or on the shoulder of the road along the route (between the church and Charlie Winston Road on Grassy Creek-Virgiilna Road)

Dec. 10th – Carlee Farm Market Place – Oxford — Mark your calendar for Saturday, December 10th. The Carlee Farm Market Place in Oxford will take place from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Come out and support over 30 local vendors selling Christmas items. The Tar River Elementary School will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks, hot chocolate and have a 50/50 Raffle as well.

Dec. 10th, 11th & 12th – "Back to Bethlehem" – Drive-Thru Nativity – Oxford’s Delrayno Baptist Church —Relive the miraculous events that proclaim the birth of our Savior.
