The Best Stops on the Way to FloydFest 22: Heartbeat

FloydFest is back in the beautiful hills of Patrick County and we’re excited to welcome a week of great people and great music! And while the gates don’t open until 10am on Wednesday, there are plenty of things to do until then. So whether you’re staying in one of our county’s super cool Airbnbs or just waiting for the gates to open, here are some of the best places to check out.

Crossroads Cafe: 23 Elamsville Rd, Stuart – Located in the beautiful town of Woolwine, Crossroads Cafe has a huge selection of freshly made sandwiches, baked goods, and cafe drinks. Crossroads Cafe is only twenty minutes from the main festival site. This is a great place for a pick-me-up before heading to FloydFest. Their hours are 7:30am-5:30pm Tuesday through Friday and 8am-3:30pm on Saturdays.

Wade’s Orchard: 10690 Woolwine Hwy, Woolwine – Wade’s Orchard is a family-owned and operated roadside stand in the town of Woolwine. You’ll find a ton of locally grown apples, peaches, seasonal vegetables, and dried goods. Wade’s Orchard is twenty minutes away from the main festival site. Wades is open 9am-5:30pm Monday-Saturday and 1pm-5:30pm on Sundays.

Primitive Coffee – Antique Market & Bakery: 2577 Jeb Stuart Hwy #4, Meadows of Dan – Primitive Coffee is an adorable coffee shop located across the street from Poor Farmers Market. This is a great spot to enjoy a hot cup of coffee, freshly brewed tea, or a delicious blueberry danish. If you find yourself in the area early Wednesday morning then Waffle Wednesdays is a must for breakfast. Primitive also sells coffee cups and pour-overs made by local potters along with bags of local Red Rooster Coffee. They are only fifteen minutes from the main festival site and they’re open 8am-3pm Monday through Saturday and 9am-4pm on Sundays.

Hearth Fyre Cafe – 121 N Main St, Stuart – Hearth Fyre opened earlier this year in the former Honduras Cafe. Hearth Fyre is a Celtic-themed coffee shop with plenty of specialty drinks, baked goods, and delicious sandwiches for the whole family. They also sell locally roasted whole-bean Honduras Coffee that can be ground in the store. Hearth Fyre is only thirty-five minutes from the main festival site and their hours are 7am-3pm Monday through Thursday and 7am-8pm on Friday and Saturday.

Poor Farmers Market -2616 Jeb Stuart Hwy, Meadows of Dan – Poor Farmers Market has all the goodies you could ever need! From locally sourced produce and dried goods to Lodge Cast Iron, Poor Farmers can help you get your last-minute cooking supplies before heading to the festival. Poor Farmers also serves freshly made sandwiches and homemade baked goods. Poor Farmers Market is only fifteen minutes from the main festival site and is open Monday – Saturday from 6am-8pm and Sundays from 7am-8pm.

Nancy’s Candy Company – 2684 Jeb Stuart Hwy, Meadows of Dan – Nancy’s Candy makes all the fudge, truffles, and chocolate pretzels you could ever need. Nancy’s Candy is great for anyone who has a sweet tooth. Nancy’s Candy is open from 10am-5pm Monday – Friday and 12pm-5pm on Sundays.
