Friday, December 3
A Christmas Carol One Man Show with John Hardy
7:30 – 9 p.m. | The Prizery
Enjoy a unique adaptation of Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol. Nationally known actor John Hardy keeps loyal to the book while he plays OVER 40 roles on stage ALONE. It’s a one-man show like you have never seen. How does he portray so many characters without changing costumes or leaving the stage? See and be amazed!
Saturday, December 4
8:30 a.m. – Noon | Berry Hill Resort
Enjoy breakfast with Santa Claus while marveling at the holiday décor at Berry Hill Resort. The menu includes assorted fruits and scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage links with biscuits and jam, and a pancake bar with assorted toppings. Seating times are 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
11 a.m. – 6 p.m. | Hunting Creek Vineyards
The Christmas Market at Hunting Creek Vineyards will feature local artisans and handmade items at our indoor/outdoor market. There will be food for sale as well as delicious mulled wine. Hunting Creek Vineyards will have candles, coffee, wine glasses, new insulated drink tumblers, new shirts, and wine for sale. Vendors include Mill Road Farm with Clean Ass Soap products; The Succy Crafter with handmade earrings; Tina’s Dimplecrafts with crochet and felt items; Pam’s Creations of live greenery centerpieces (purchase or place an order at the market); Amanda’s Farmhouse Christmas Décor Crafts with Chass Valarie’s Designs.
Christmas in Full Bloom Flower Wall
1 – 5 p.m. | Wister’s
Visit our holiday-themed Christmas in Full Bloom flower wall! Head downtown early to get your photos taken at the wall and stick around for the Christmas parade that evening! The flower wall will remain up after the parade and can be visited during open hours through December 7.
Mulberry Hill Open House – Day One
1 – 4 p.m. | Staunton River Battlefield State Park
Visit historic Mulberry Hill and see the house decorated for the holidays. Volunteers will be on hand in historic dress to give tours of the house and grounds as well as conducting historic demonstrations. The Historic Staunton River Foundation will have a gift shop and a station where you can make a kissing ball. Please call the park office at 434-454-4312 for more information.
A Superheroes Christmas Parade
5 – 6:30 p.m. | Downtown South Boston
The annual Christmas Parade has returned, and this year heroes are making it happen! Floats will be decorated in the theme of many favorite superheroes, including local heroes, like doctors, nurses, teachers, police, and many others! It’s going to be a great time with parade floats, music on the street, and holiday decorations from local merchants lighting the way for the parade.
Sunday, December 5

Wreath Workshop at Springfield
1 – 5 p.m. | Springfield Distillery
Wister’s will be showing participants how to create handmade fresh wreaths at Springfield Distillery on Sunday, December 5th. One workshop begins at 1 p.m. and the other at 3 p.m. Come early to get your cocktail and some lunch and then we’ll meet under the pavilion to make the prettiest wreaths for your home! Tickets are limited so make sure to get yours as soon as possible!
2 – 4 p.m. | Patrick Henry’s Red Hill
Guests will be treated to docent-guided tours of the historic buildings at Red Hill, including Patrick Henry’s house, Law Office, and other buildings, all decorated for the holiday by the Red Hill Garden Club. Complimentary hot mulled cider, Brunswick stew prepared by the Charlotte Lions Club and homemade cookies will be available throughout the afternoon. The gift shop will be offering a 10% discount on its regular shop merchandise on this special day. The Museum Shop has many items that are perfect for gift-giving, including the award-winning Red Hill Wine collection.
Wednesday, December 8

Santa will stop by Gatrell’s to meet the children and hear their holiday wishes. Free candy canes, cookies, and a special Christmas Karaoke Show with Donnie.
Thursday, December 9

Join us for a fun evening at Berry Hill! Your ticket includes a 6pm wreath making workshop in the Orangerie and a ticket for a glass of wine or beer in the Library Bar.Arrive early to take advantage of happy hour specials in the Library Bar and stay after the wreath workshop for dinner at Darby’s Tavern!
Friday, December 10

Join local crafters for a Christmas Marketplace in the Ballroom at Berry Hill! Just in time for Christmas, these handmade gifts will be perfect for Holiday giving. While you’re here, stop by Darby’s Tavern for dinner or the Library Bar for a specialty cocktail and dessert!

Saturday, December 11
Alton Drive-Through Christmas Parade
11 am – 1 pm | Alton Community
The Alton Drive-Thru Christmas Parade returns for its second year in the Alton community of Halifax! Parade floats, dance teams, and Santa will remain roadside as attendees drive the parade route, allowing for safe social distancing.

Sunday, December 12

Let’s get together to celebrate the Season of Giving! What better way than singing carols, sharing wine and cookies and giving to others. We will ask each person present to write a charity close to their hearts on a piece of paper and place the name of that charity in a box. At 1 pm, 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm we will draw out a name. Hunting Creek Vineyards will donate $25 to each chosen charity. We will sing carols together at these times and experience the "feeling of Christmas". There will be mulled wine, cookies, outside fire pots, and Hunting Creek Vineyards merchandise for sale to complete your gift list.
Noon – 5 p.m. | Tropical Cabana Tan
Santa Claus will be stopping by Tropical Cabana Tan for pictures! Bring the kids and visit Santa Sunday, December 12 from 12 to 5 pm!
2 – 4 p.m. | Hunting Creek Vineyards
Hunting Creek Vineyards has paired up with The Painted Palm to host "Ornament Paint and Sip." Come out and paint your own special ornaments to hang on the tree this year! Each $25 ticket includes one glass of wine (or mulled wine) as well as supplies and instruction to create two ornaments. We have plenty of room to safely distance small groups, couples and singles. Limited Tickets Available.
North Halifax Christmas Parade
3 – 5 p.m. | North Halifax Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department
The Community Christmas Parade was such a hit last year we are doing it again! It is truly a community parade because we are bringing the parade to your house! We are going to start at the Fire Dept, head to the Grove, turn on Tobacco Road, Golden Leaf Road, head to Mulberry Road, Felix Road, Pumping Hill Road, Leda Grove Road back to the Fire Dept.
3 – 5 p.m. | Spainhour Diner
Santa will stop by Spainhour’s Restaurant December 12th to meet local families! He will be on site from 3 – 5 pm! Stop by and say hi, or stay for dinner. Refreshments will be available.
Danville Symphony Orchestra – Home for the Holidays
5 p.m. – 7 p.m. | The Prizery
Join us for an evening with Danville Symphony Orchestra as they perform Home for the Holidays. A classical Christmas concert with songs you can sing along to from your favorite Christmas carols, ballets, and movies such as The Nutcracker, Home Alone, Sleigh Ride, and much more. You won’t want to miss the magic of the season!

Join us for a day full of Christmas fun! Christmas crafts, story time, milk and cookies, and special screening of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. And don’t forget to bring your Christmas list, because after the movie kids will get to meet the one and only Santa Claus! Parents can drop of their children, and spend the day getting last minute Christmas gifts, or stay and enjoy the festivities with them! This event is for ages 5-12 years old, if younger than 5 a parent must be present during the event. This event is free admission and has a limited number of tickets available, so please reserve your child’s spot online. Parents should arrive early prior to the event to fill out forms for drop off, as well as be early for pickup following the event.

Santa is coming so bring the kids kicking and screaming. We will be sponsoring the HCHS Culinary Arts students again this year and they will provide cookies for the kids. Donations to help get them to States and Nationals are always appreciated and matched so come and support local. Chelsey Wooding will be taking photos, Full Circle Pizza will be selling pizza and we of course will have plenty of cocktails for your consumption. Come and see us!
