South Boston, VA – After more than a year of social distancing and no in-person events, SoBo Brew Fest brings a live event to Downtown South Boston. Halifax County Tourism and Destination Downtown South Boston have partnered with Factory Street Brewing Company in Downtown South Boston for the SoBo Brew Fest 5K and Block Party will be held in front of Factory Street Brewing Company on Factory Street in Downtown South Boston on Sunday, July 4, 2021, from 5 – 9:30 p.m.
"We’re so happy to invite you to our welcome back block party event on the 4th of July," stated Tamyra Vest, Director, Destination Downtown South Boston. "We are thrilled to partner with The Factory Street Brewing Company and welcome our exciting new addition to downtown. I think the community is ready gather with friends and go to events."
This year’s craft beer festival offers a twist to the original format and hopes to safely bring people to Downtown South Boston for live music, a 5K, food trucks, and craft beer from Halifax County’s newest attraction, Factory Street Brewing Company.
Albert Einstein said, ‘Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.’ "We have gained a greater appreciation of how dear our time is together," said LaTonya Hamilton, Halifax County Tourism Director. "We hope that improving conditions and continued vaccinations will allow us to provide an event downtown that locals and visitors will enjoy, while feeling safe and introducing more people to our newest attraction, Factory Street Brewing Company."
This year’s event will showcase beers from Factory Street Brewing Company with a block party, a live local band, food trucks, and a 5K race that will end at the brewery. The 5K and the block party will begin at 5 p.m. The band takes the stage at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 and include one (1) pint of beer or a soda.
Runners of all ages are encouraged to register to participate in the 5K race. Race registration is $15, which includes entry to the block party following the race. Water stations will be set up along the course to keep runners hydrated and cool for the evening race. Runners will also receive a t-shirt, and for those over 21, a branded pint glass, and a complimentary pint of beer.
