Drew and Ross Mathews invite a few diehard VFF BBQ fans to determine if King’s Restaurant in North Carolina, Charles Vergos Rendezvous or Joe’s Kansas City BBQ is the best around!
You can watch the judging for yourself here.
As it turns out, Drew and Matthew confirm what we locals have long known: Kings Restaurant has the best Ribs in the United States. And, don’t forget those heavenly Collard Greens.
A family-centric restaurant at its core, Kings BBQ’s modest beginnings began more than 75 years ago in Kinston, NC, when Frank King’s son Wilbur started serving food from the country store’s pot-bellied stove using family recipes and traditional Southern cooking methods.
Three generations later, Kings is now worldwide famous for their signature hand-chopped Eastern North Carolina-style BBQ – slow-smoked, pulled from the bone, and infused with a mild vinegar sauce, as only true North Carolina barbecue is prepared. Throw in some authentic coleslaw, potato salad, and hush puppies for a true down-home feast that any Southerner would heartily approve of.
If you can’t get to Kings in person, you can still enjoy some ribs, chopped barbecue, sweet potato pie and all the fixins’ by ordering online and having it shipped directly to your home. It’s fast. It’s fresh. It’s Southern with a kick. Just like its hometown of Kinston.
