We were showing growth with new, exciting things to offer in Roxboro when COVID19 hit. Just as Executive Orders were announced, events and activities were cancelled and many businesses had to adjust their business modules. The Uptown Roxboro Group collaborated with the Roxboro Area Chamber of Commerce and the #KeepRoxboroRunning campaign was born. Zack & Kyle of 1792 Beer Co. designed the logo and ordered stickers and other items to help promote Roxboro. Yard signs/banners were donated by Person County Economic Development, Piedmont Community College Small Business, 1792 Beer Company, Person County Tourism and Visitor Center, Roxboro Area Chamber of Commerce & the Uptown Roxboro Group. They were proudly posted all over Roxboro in support. Person County Arts & Parks held a Virtual 5k in June titled "Keep Roxboro Running, Your Pace, Your Place" to support local businesses- registration included participant t-shirts proudly displaying the logo. Specialty Designs printed and sold gray t-shirts with the logo to show support. The Uptown Roxboro Group and Roxboro Area Chamber of Commerce continue to post promotional video’s on Facebook for local businesses. Retail businesses helped cross-promote products, restaurants fed one-another’s staff and we were so proud to see how the community in Roxboro came together.
